Morgan Gould can start training with the team. The strong defender tore his Achilles tendon against Raja Casablanca last season.

Kaizer Chiefs’ Medical Report states the following about Gould’s road to full recovery: “The training will consist of limited game situations. He should be totally ready after the Fifa break."

The Fifa break is from 31 August to 8 September 2015.

Daniel Cardoso had an x-ray today. The defender is recovering from a stress fracture in the shin bone. According to Chiefs’ medical report “it shows great improvement. He will have another x-ray in three weeks’ time after which a final decision will be made."

Cardoso and Gould have not as yet featured for Amakhosi this season due to their respective injuries.

Meanwhile, Bongani Ndulula returned to training last week and Siphelele Mthembu, who also had an injury, was back in action against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.

The return to full fitness of Gould should drive Chiefs to excellence when the league programme gains momentum.

Kaizer Chiefs will host Free State Stars at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 22 August. It will be Chiefs’ first home game of the 2015/16 Absa Premiership Season.

Kick-off for this much awaited fixture is at 20:15, gates open at 17:00.
