The speedy winger said, “as a collective we want to be successful in all competitions that we playing in. Potentially we have another thirty games to play this season and if we going to do well, we need for every guy to be ready to play at his best when he gets his chance.
All I did against Stars was play my part as a member of the team, as the season goes on we will have to deal with injuries and suspensions. Mentally we all ready and prepared to play when the coach feels it is our time having every one eager to play is good for the team.”
With Chiefs facing a tough week with two challenging games ahead against two on form teams in the form Santos on Wednesday followed by a game against rivals Orlando Pirates good form of late on Saturday, Mandla believes that the Amakhosi should keep their mind on continuing to pick points and must keep their attention on the fixture against the Capetonians.
Masango further added, “a good thing about our team thus far has been our ability to focus on each game and we have prepared with the same seriousness for every game no matter who the opponents are and that has definitely helped us.
For now we are only thinking of Santos and that’s all, it is important for us to win every game and we can only do that if we well prepared for every match.”
While Saturday’s game against Stars was contested in the afternoon, the clash against Santos will be played in the evening, Masango is expecting the cooler condition to play a role in affecting the tempo of the game.
“Against Stars the heat was a factor, it will be cooler as our next game is in the evening so we are expecting the game to be played at a quicker pace.
Santos are always a difficult team to play against, and I do feel that we are ready for the challenge.”
