1. Established in 1911 and is one of the oldest teams in the African continent.

2. Current African champions and the first Ghanaian club in almost two decades to win the top club prize in African soccer. They have twice been runners up in the African Champions League in 1977 and 1979.

3. The Phobians – as they are popularly known in Ghana – have further added to their memorable year’s performance by winning the Ghanaian FA Cup after beating Okwawu United 2-0 in the final.

4. They also beat Goldfields to win their local league with a five-point lead in November last year.

5. Coach Cecil Jone Attaquayefio has consequently been named the Caf African coach of the year at the recent awards ceremony held in Johannesburg.

6. Striker Ishmael Addo was named as one of the three nominees for the Caf young player of the year.

7. The team is based in Accra, the capital city of Ghana.

8. Hearts have won a total of 14 championships in the past 44 years.

9. The side has also won the Ghana FA Cup 12 times.

10. They achieved a double winning the league and cup six times including last year.
