History counts for nothing – Bhasera

Defender, Onismor Bhasera has warned his teammates that history will count for nothing when they meet Sundowns for the second time in the league this season. Kick off for the game is at 19h30 on Thursday, 23 April 2009.

The Glamour Boys sent the Brazilians packing in the opening game of the year and before that they had downed Downs twice in the MTN 8 and Charity Cup back in September and August respectively.

“This is a whole new game, we are desperate for points so is Sundowns,” said Bhasera on Tuesday afternoon.

“We have beaten Sundowns this season but that to us is history. We have worked very hard and we know how important this game is as we push for the respectable position in the league.

Sundowns are quite a good side and the fact that they have not done well in their previous games makes them more dangerous.”

The hard working Zimbabwean added that ‘teamwork’ will be vital not only for the Sundowns game but for all the four remaining games this season.

“We have proved this season that when we play as a team, we are much stronger than our opponents. Teamwork has been our strength and we will be relying on that on Thursday and in our upcoming remaining games.

In the dressing room we are still positive about this season and we know that we have what it takes to bring to Naturena all the available points against Mamelodi Sundowns,” jokingly adding that he is glad he won’t be facing Josta Dladla this coming Thursday.
