Punch who played in the left back position for Chiefs was on Saturday deployed as a left winger due to the absence of a regular, Siphiwe Tshabalala due to suspension.

“I am happy to play anywhere for the team. It was for the first time for me to play left wing but the most important thing is to play. In modern football as a player you need to be versatile” he told kaizerchiefs.com on Monday.

“The coach discussed the issue with me early in the week before the game. As a player, it is important that I avail myself for any position that the coach feels I can make contribution on.”

Punch who was substituted at half time found the back of the net but his ‘first goal’ for the Club was ruled offside,

“It is a dream of every player to score for the Club and I thought I had finally scored my first goal but then it was ruled offside by the referee. I will continue working hard on my game,” he concluded.
