Matthew Rusike said that he was delighted that the dispute between himself and his former Club, Jomo Cosmos has been settled and is now part of Kaizer Chiefs team.

The elated looking Rusike was speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Tuesday after hearing the news about his clearance.

“I am very excited that the matter has been settled and PSL has now given me my clearance allowing me to play for Kaizer Chiefs.

“I was a bit worried that the matter was going to drag longer and leave me frustrated at the end. I was always confident that the case will go in my favour. I do not want to dwell on the matter though my focus now is on donning the gold and black jersey.

Rusike missed the preseason and feels that he still needs more time to sort out his fitness; “I missed preseason and that meant playing a catch up for me as other guys are already fit. This is something that I am working on and soon I will be ready to play when given a chance by the Technical Team.

“From mental point of view I just need to switch over and think more about the way forward. I spent most of the time thinking about the ‘clearance’ and now all I am thinking about is fighting for my place in the team and hopefully make a contribution.

“I feel privileged to join and become part of ‘Reclaiming the Glory’ the theme that the Club has adopted for the season. I have enjoyed every minute of my stay at Naturena since arriving last month. I cannot wait to start playing and repay the Management and everyone who has supported me throughout the time of the dispute,” added Rusike.
