I am ready for the next game – Mphela

Katlego Mphela made his debut when the Amakhosi played to a 2-all draw against a gutsy Maritzburg United on Tuesday night. The game took place at the jam-packed Harry Gwala Stadium. Coach Baxter introduced the highly rated marksman in the 65th minute of the game.

“It feels great to finally make a debut for Chiefs. I have been welcomed with warmth here and that makes me feel like being part of the family. I am glad about my performance in my first game, I am also glad that it went well, it was not that bad. I am pleased mainly by the fact that I haven’t played for a long time, but I didn’t feel much rusted,” said the man they call ‘Killer’.

It didn’t take much long after he was introduced, before ‘Killer’ could make his presence felt. Mphela came close to scoring but his shot went wide,

“It was a tight angle from a great through ball from ‘Shabba’. Missing that goal showed that I am not yet sharp enough. If I was in my sharpness, that was going to go in. I am looking forward to the next game. If it were for me to decide, I would play even tomorrow,” commented ‘Killer’.
