Goalkeeper, Kabelo Metsimetsi has poured cold water on reports that he wants to leave the Club and insisted that his focus and the rest of the team is on the upcoming game against rivals, Orlando Pirates on Saturday, 26 February 2011.

Metsimetsi has not tasted action this season and made his last appearance against Ajax Cape Town in the semi finals of MTN8 at Orlando Stadium. He has been working hard under the watchful eye of goalkeeper coach Rainer Dinkelacker while waiting for his chance.

“I read a lot of things in the media. I am staying at Chiefs and my focus together with my teammates is on the game on Saturday,” said the player affectionately known to his teammates as “Soda Water”.

“The reports that I skipped training are not true. I am working hard at training and as part of the Goalkeeping Department - it is my duty to support Itumeleng Khune who is currently doing well for the team,”

I am fit and ready to play when the Coach gives me a chance...for now I will support whoever gets the nod to play ahead of me,” he told kaizerchiefs.com following a gruelling session at The Village on Thursday morning.

The lanky goalkeeper also backed his teammates to come back with maximum points against Orlando Pirates, “We have been working very hard at training this week. We are quite aware that this game is a ‘must win’ for us. We have not lost a game at FNB this year and we want to keep it like that,” he added.
