Having not answered the phone, there was a feeling that the Chairman should ‘move on’ and call someone else for the prize of 1 million with half of the prize going to charity but the Chairman insisted that Luthando be called again.
“This has not yet sunk in…I am still on cloud nine as I speak to you. I want to thank the Chairman for his patience.
I was not watching the show on Monday night. On the same breath I want to thank Carling Black Label for what they did for the supporters in this country,” said the 25 year old speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Tuesday afternoon.
“I stay with my mother, Nonkosi Lukhwe, my three months old son Owam Hlulani including his mother in Warmer, Port Elizabeth. I am also fortunate to have a friend who is an accountant and he has already offered his help. I do think though the money is going to go towards Owam’s education.
It has always been my dream to do nursing and I am going to register and fulfill my dream. I am also going to help to renovate our house,” said Lukhwe who currently works as a Merchandiser for Coca Cola.
Lukhwe added that he is delighted that part of the prize is going towards charity, “It has always been my wish to do something for the community.
There is a lot that needs to be done in my community and I will do my research in the next couple of days and we will see how the charities here can benefit through this prize.”
