Lehlohonolo Majoro has told kaizerchiefs.com he is determined to compete for starting berth in the team following the goal he scored in the Soweto Derby on Saturday, 27 July 2013, this inspired the Glamour Boys in their first Carling Black Label Cup win.

‘Wagga-Wagga’ as Majoro is affectionately known in football circles was among the second highest goalscorer last season behind Bernard Parker.

The arrival of Zimbabwean hitman, Knowledge Musona and the presence of other strikers seem to have motivated Majoro who was Club’s leading goalscorer in 2011/2012 season.

“I love competition because it leads to improvement,” said Majoro with supreme confidence.

“Competition is good for me as an individual and good for the team as it means no one will rest on their laurels. We all have one objective as players to represent the gold and black with honour so that whoever is selected is ready to do the job.”

Talking about the Soweto Derby, Majoro commented; “It is never easy to face Orlando Pirates and on Saturday credit should go to the team for the job well done.

I was happy to score on Saturday. I feel the goal is going to help my confidence going to the start of the season. It is my job to score goals and with the continued teamwork one hopes to score more goals this coming season.

The Glamour Boys will kick-start the season on Friday, 02 August 2013 when they face Mpumalanga Black Aces at Mbombela Stadium (Kick-off is at 20:00); “It is a very important game for us and we are all looking forward to it,” Majoro concluded.
