The 20 year-old made his intentions inside 15 minutes when he forced goalkeeper, Postnet Omony to pull a superb save with a volley on the edge of the 18-area. In the second stanza, Omony had to be at his best before saving Baloyi’s header.
“I should have scored more goals on the day but I am pleased that I finally scored a goal for the Club. It is even more special to me that I scored the goal in front of my home fans,” said the Baloyi speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Monday afternoon.
“The Coach has to get credit on how we played yesterday. He told us before the game to attack in numbers when we go forward. I feel that with the way we playing I can score more goals for the team.
“I continue to get lot of encouragement from my teammates in particular my homeboy, Tlou Molekwane who also got an opportunity to play on Sunday. Even though I won the Man of the Match award I think all of us there we gave our best and we now need to keep the momentum going to the Telkom KO this coming weekend.
“The most important thing for me is to keep my feet on the ground and continue working hard in improving on my game. I always believe that you play the way you train. These are the results of what we do at Chiefs Village with the Coach on a daily basis.
“Hopefully more goals are coming but the team comes first. If I cannot score at least I should create for my teammates,” said Baloyi who was involved in setting up Lehlohonolo Majoro’s goal that sealed the match in favour of the Glamour Boys.
Baloyi a former U17 and U20 international believes that if he continues to do well for the Club he stands a chance of making the U23 team under Shakes Mashaba.
“It is my dream to be in that team. I do recognise though that I have to continue giving my best here at Kaizer Chiefs if I am to dream of being part of the squad.
