Mmbooi who has played six games for Chiefs in this his first season with the club is content with his current fitness levels and is confident that if given the chance he could play a part for Chiefs through February as The Amakhosi fight for league honours.
Game Time
The 26 year old defender who hails from the Limpopo Province has spent a lot of time in the gym over the festive break and is ready to do whatever is needed for him to get regular game time in the latter stages of the season for Chiefs.
As he explained saying, “I think that over time being at a team like Chiefs where competition for a place in the starting eleven is so tough, you develop and build a mental toughness which helps you deal with the tough competitive environment that you are in.
While not playing can be difficult I think that I have managed not to get down but have carried on working hard in training matches, which helps towards putting myself in a situation where I will get regular game time. When that happens I need to also be in the necessary physical shape to be able to do a good job for the team, my aim obviously is to get regular playing time”.
Telling Contribution
In twenty six days Chiefs will play six games in the month of February which according to Mmbooi will mean that Chiefs will need all of their players fit and in addition all squad members will at some time be called upon to play at some time, Mmbooi explains that he will is eager and ready to give his all to the teams course during the final month of the season.
As he said “with so many matches in such a short period of time everyone will have his part to play, what helps us is that in our team every guy is eager and willing to do whatever it takes to be in the starting eleven.
Personally whatever chance the coach gives me to play I will make the most of it and do whatever I can to ensure that the team finishes the season in a successful way”.
