Kaizer Chiefs will be hosting Bloemfontein Celtic in the Absa Premiership fixture on Wednesday, 19 February 2014. Phunya Sele Sele will be making their trip to the FNB Stadium with their tails up owing to their rich vein of form since the beginning of 2014. kaizerchiefs.com caught up with George Lebese ahead of the mouth-watering clash.

“We are aware that we are going into this game at the back of a 1-all draw against the resilient Maritzburg United last week. We played another 1-all draw against Black Africa in the CAF Champions league in Namibia last weekend. Most of the players got a run in the Namibia game with some of the regular players rested. The Team should be in the same fitness level going into the clash against Celtic,” said Lebese.

“We are 100% focused on the game on Wednesday. We played 0-all draw against them in their own backyard in the first round of this season. I don’t see how they can stop us if we managed to take a point from them at the Free State Stadium. They are a difficult side to beat in Free State. We bagged a point in front of their supporters and considering the conditions of the pitch during that game, we were happy with the results,” commented Lebese.

“They have a new Coach Middendorp, who has done well for them since he arrived in Bloefontein. They play good football and Coach Middendorp has done well against Chiefs in the past but this time around, it will be a different ball game. They look like an organised Team and they are also tactically good. If they give 100%, we will give 150%,” commented Lebese.

Lebese called on the supporters to come in their numbers at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday, “We are boosted by the crowds that have been filling up the stadia recently. The supporters play a very important role in the Club and we will continue to give it our all to make them happy.”

Kickoff for the game is at 19:30. Tickets are available at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide at a cost of R40 and R10 for the juveniles when they are accompanied by the adults.

Top 6 Taxis to and from the stadium.
