Introducing Flavio Da Silva

Posted in Features, News on Sep 19, 2025.

New signing, Flavio Da Silva has made an instant impact since arriving at the Club prior to the start of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign, scoring the winning goal on his debut from the bench against Lamontville Golden Arrows at the end of August and adding his second in his first start in Tuesday’s 3-1 loss to Sekhukhune United.

The athletic Portuguese striker sat down with www.kaizerchiefs.com to discuss his early impressions of life as a Phefeni Glamour Boy:

On scoring on debut for Amakhosi:
I am very happy because I am motivated to help the team. We have big targets and lots of ambition and I am delighted to contribute. Collecting points is more important than the goals, so I am happier with my first goal because it helped us to get a victory.

On making his first start in Gold & Black:
A few years ago I came to South Africa and visited FNB stadium for a match against a Ghanaian team. The atmosphere was beautiful, so for me, my first game was very, very special. I felt happy to play there myself.

I have mixed feelings about the match itself because scoring at FNB stadium means a lot to me personally, but I am very disappointed that we lost the game.

On how he is settling into living in Mzansi:
I’m ok. My family has arrived, which is the most important thing outside of football. I have been here a few months and I am starting to get used to it and I am feeling happy.

On facing Kabuscorp SCP of Angola in the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday:
We play for a big club so I think we just need to take a winning mentality into the match. We have only one target, and we are focused on winning. This is my first time playing in a CAF competition, so I am looking forward to giving it 100 percent, along with my teammates.

Having grown up in Portugal, I know a lot of Angolan players, and how they play. They are very skillful, but we also have talent and quality, so we expect a tough game but we are confident in our ability to get a positive outcome.
