Kaizer Chiefs has announced that Goalkeeper Coach Rainer Dinkelacker will be leaving at the end of 2013.

Dinkelacker has agreed to stay on in order to integrate the new man in charge of the goalkeeping department into the Kaizer Chiefs system. Dennis Rudel (recommended by Dinkelacker, started his role at Amakhosi on Monday 1st July).

Born in Stuttgart Germany, Rudel (36), was coach of the development sides at Vfl Wolfsburg in Germany since 2009. Rudel played for Casino Bregenz in Austria’s Bundesliga. He stopped playing in 2007 at the age of 30. He started his coaching career at Stuttgart Kickers in Germany.

“I am happy to be here. This is a great chance to develop in life and everything. I can’t wait to experience South Africa and also improve my English (laughing). I am looking forward to work with the Team. I am glad Rainer (Dinkelacker) will be around for some time to assist me to settle in the job. I have known him for almost 25 years since we met when I attended a youth camp that he was the instructor. He also coached me at Stuttgart Kickers. He is a great coach.

“We have started with our training and so far I can say we have started very well although other guys (National Team Players) including goalkeeper and Team Captain Itumeleng Khune will be joining us soon. I am looking forward to work with everybody at the Team. My first impression has been phenomenal. Everyone at the Village has welcomed and greeted me with a smile.”

“The last time I was here back in March I enjoyed a Kudu steak for the first time in my life (smiling) and will be enjoying more of the South African delicacies. I am grateful to be part of this great Club and hope to make a contribution going forward.”
