Wits were defeated 2-0 on the Indian Ocean Island by Adema, according to Isaacs it will be a different looking Students outfit who line up against the Amakhosi.
“They did not take a full strength team to Madagascar they played with a whole lot of youngsters, so the guys that are expected to play against us did not make the trip.
Which means they will be well rested and ready for the game, it is Chiefs they playing against so we know that we need to expect a tough and motivated team.”
Chiefs travelled a day before the game to Mpumalanga in order to get in a practice session at the venue where they will be playing against Wits on Wednesday.
A decision which has the approval of Isaacs who believes it will aid their acclimatize process with the Stadium and surroundings, “it helps that we have a training session there later on Tuesday” explained Isaacs before going on to add.
“We have not played at the Mbombela Stadium before so it will be a new experience for us although some of the guys have played their with the national team. It maybe a new ground for us to be play at but our hope and desire to win the game remains at the same high level.”
The game against Wits sees Chiefs enter the final stretch of the season and according to Isaacs the Amakhosi are entering a crucial stage of the season and winning the game is essential if they hope to keep their title hopes alive.
“The finish line to the season is near this is the time for u
s to push on, at Chiefs we used to pressure and we are used to playing under testing circumstances.
We know that each game we win now in the final stretch helps to ease things a win against Wits will be a move in the right direction for us to achieve our set target.”
