"I am proud to be associated with a brand that is about empowering women," expressed Digital Manager Kemiso Motaung. "We worked well with SAFA in the Western Cape and I must say the event was a success."



The soccer clinics took place at Sarican Football Club on Saturday morning, "The turnout was huge with girls U13 and U15 coming through and learning soccer skills." The girls came from far and wider areas of Phillipi, Gugulethu and Khayelisha. "I believe the future lies in young girls and I would like to thank Kaizer Chiefs for this opportunity."



Parent Phimeza Maneli from Langa was among a crowd of parents who accompanied their children to the clinics, "We have a team called 'Kaizer Chiefs'," states Maneli whose daughter is 11 year old Nandipha. "Soccer helps our children to focus on sport and not get affected by the ills in our community. Drugs and bad behavior are ravaging in our community and through sport we can make things better. Thank you for Chiefs for conducting the clinics in Cape Town. The girls enjoyed themselves and surely they will be motivated going forward."



Itumeleng Khune, Bernard Parker, George Lebese and Keegan Ritchie took the girls through a number of drills. "It is always a pleasure to work with the kids," reflected Parker. "They really showed a tremendous passion and skill. We are happy to be part of this development, it is fulfilling to impart knowledge and by so doing giving back to the communities."



SAFA Western Cape coaches were represented by Shaheeda McLeod and Pam Ngwabeni assisted by Banyana Banyana stars Thembi Kgatlana and Sanah Mollo. "I enjoyed work with the girls and wish to do this more, thanks to Kaizer Chiefs," expressed Kgatlana whose on her way to Rio with Banyana Banyana who've qualified for the Olympics happening later this year . "These girls will grow to become the next Banyana Banyana. We must just give them support."



"This is worth a repeat," concludes Motaung. "It was worth a while for us to conduct this clinics."



Chiefs are here at their home away from home playing against Platinum Stars on Sunday January 24. Kick-off is at 15:30. Tickets are sold for R60 at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers.
