Kaizer Chiefs take on their archrivals Orlando Pirates on Saturday, 26 October 2013. The Soweto Derby has always been the pride and joy of the soccer loving fraternity in and across the South African borders. Just as it happens all over the world, Derbies are a toast to every soccer loving person, in each and every country.

In South Africa, when the two Soweto giants meet, most describe it as epitomising the ‘Battle Royale’, a novel by Japanese writer Koushun Takami. The Amakhosi have eclipsed their archrivals by 1 – 0, in the annual Carling Black Label preseason Cup. Orlando Pirates got the better of Chiefs by a 2 – 1 score, in a closely contested MTN8 semifinal game.

Chiefs are on six games without a loss including advancing to the semis of the 2013 TKO semis while their archrivals have advanced to final of the CAF Championship.

“As a custom, big match, big stage calls for big entertainment. Kabelo ‘Bouga Luv’ Mabalane, famous for his rendition of Amakhosi Ajabulile, will add a flavour to what is expected to be a sold out affair. There are other activations lined up on the day. Please be in your seat by 14:00 so you can see Bouga Luv and watch the warm up,” commented Vina Maphosa, Chiefs’s Corporate Communications Manager
