The scorer of a scorcher of a goal last weekend when Chiefs ran riot over Black Aces in the MTN8 quarterfinal, Kingston Nkhatha said that the game against Free State Stars will be a different ball game altogether. Nkhatha scored the second goal in Chiefs’ demolishing job with some pundits making an early call for goal of the season but Nkhatha refused to be carried away.
“We will take the trip with positivity in mind,” Nkhatha said this before his team takes a trip to meet Free State Stars. They have met in 29 league matches since 1996.
“Going there (Qwaqwa) every time is a big deal. The weather and the pitch conditions are always making it tough for us. It is the first league game and we must be ready for anything. You will never know how they will come at us. We will approach the game with an open mind.” said Nkhatha after the training session in preparation for the clash that has produced 18 wins for the Amakhosi compared to three for Ea Lla Koto, while eight matches have been drawn.
Last season the Amakhosi took four points off their Free State opponents, winning 2-0 away and drawing 1-1 at home in the return match.
The game is taking place on Women’s Day,Saturday, 9 August 2014 at Charles Mopeli Stadium. Kickoff is at 15:00.
