Bernard ‘Hond’ Parker bagged his second ‘Man of the Match’ award when the Amakhosi beat Polokwane City 4 – 1, in the Absa Premeirship encounter which took place on Wednesday, 27 November 2013.

“I am feeling good to get back in the scoring mode. The goals couldn’t come without the supply from my teammates. If we continue to play like this, I think more goals will come.”

“Every goal I score is special. I saw Kingston (Nkhatha) going for the near post and I drifted back to stay on the far post, on the edge of the box. George (Lebese) spotted me, I picked the spot and headed the cross straight to the far side of the goalkeeper. I did that under pressure from their defender,” commented Amakhosi’s top goal scorer for last season (2012/13).

“The Coach (Baxter) told me as we were walking down the tunnel during halftime, ‘Sometimes when you are in the final third, you must just be composed. Drop your shoulders a bit, look up and have shot at goal.’ That’s what I did with the second goal and I am happy with the resultant goal;” ‘Hond’ was speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Thursday morning.

“Every time I step on the pitch and I stretch myself. I want to always do more for the Club. As an individual I want to improve at all times and help the Team to achieve our collective goal. I am working extra hard and to be the real me. My quality will show once I get the best version of me on track,” said the current PSL league leading goal scorer with 6 goals after 10 games.
