Despite Aces being unable to register a win in their last five league games Letsholonyane insists that he is not reading much into those statistics, “we experienced enough to know that any team who plays against Chiefs lifts their game and come out giving everything they have.
Aces might have been beaten by Amazulu over the weekend in my view that will only make them more determined to want to win against us, we are under no illusions and know exactly what we will have to do to win this game.
It is going to require another strong team effort from us to win this game.”
Letshonlonyane also insists that despite Aces top scorer Mpho Maleka who has netted six goals this season and is a goal behind Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona on the scorers chart, not able to feature in the game as he is suspended Aces posses enough quality in their line up to make a game of it.
As he further added, “I have seen Mpho play a couple of times this season and he can be a troublesome player and defenders have found it hard keeping him quiet, oviously he is not playing that won’t really mean much to us they have players who have worked around him who are just as creative and need just one chance to influence the outcome of the game.
One of their most recognised players might not be playing but there are still eleven Aces players we will need to keep under control.”
Chiefs themselves head into the game having to change their personnel around somewhat from the 1-0 win over Wits, with goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune and Mandla Masango who came on as a second half substitute in that game unable to feature against Aces as they too are suspended for the game.
“It never ideal to be without players who have played regularly”, explained Letsholonyane of the absentees before going onto say, “through the season we have displayed that we have a strong squad at various times different players have been out. We are fortunate in that we having a big squad of players and we have players who can fill in”.
