“The players really welcomed me,” reflects Nedbank Cup Ke Yona Draft, Dean Jones, who trained with Kaizer Chiefs for the first time on Friday morning. “Captain Siphiwe Tshabalala even took me separate and spoke some encouraging words.”
The 21-year-old defender will be with the Amakhosi squad for the whole month of October. He comes from Athlone in the Western Cape Province.
Jones was in the Ke Yona Team squad that recently lost 2-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns.
“I hope to be able to showcase my talent,” says Jones, before adding: “It’s an honour to be here. I already feel part of the team, because of the way that the players have put me at ease.”
