“We have another 90 minutes to play at Orlando Stadium,” these were Vermezovic’s words following a 1-0 defeat in the hands of Ajax Cape Town at Newlands Stadium last Saturday.
“I congratulate Ajax Cape Town, their Technical Team for job well done on Saturday. I also want to congratulate my players because despite the defeat, the boys fought hard and never gave up.
We created few opportunities I think we should have buried but it happens sometimes in football that things do not go your way. We will go back to drawing board and hopefully we will come back with positive result on next Sunday at home,” he said.
The referee, Peter Mabuza came under fire from Club supporters who bayed for his blood after the game.
“I do not like talking about referees…I don’t know if it was a penalty for Ajax but it is the way that he took that decision that I am not comfortable about. It took the referee couple of minutes before deciding it was a penalty.”
Chiefs travel to Tshwane on Tuesday for a date with reigning PSL Champions, SuperSport United.
“It is going to be a very tough game and we focusing our energies on SuperSport before thinking about Ajax this coming weekend,” he added.
