Rea Vaya BRT to run services to transport soccer fans to the FNB Stadium for the Carling Black Label Cup between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates this Saturday, 26 July 2014.



The City of Johannesburg makes Rea Vaya services available for soccer fans who will be attending a Carling Black Label soccer match at the FNB Stadium between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday 26 July 2014.



The frequency for the soccer match will be stepped up from the normal service to 5 minutes for T1 buses from Ellispark to FNB and T1 buses from Thokoza Park (Soweto) to FNB Stadium from 12h00 to meet the expected demand of the soccer fans and supporters. The 5 minutes frequency to the FNB Stadium will run until 15h00.



Thokoza Park T1 buses will be supported by fans coming from feeders, F1 Naledi, F2 Protea Glen, F4 Mofolo to Boomtown and Complimentary bus C1 from Dobsonville.



Fans using T3 buses that travel from Library Gardens through Milpark, UJ Kingsway, Westbury and Noordgesig will connect T1 buses at the Orlando Stadium station to FNB Stadium. T3 buses will operate at 15 minutes frequency.



T1 buses and C1 buses will stop at FNB Stadium from 08h00 for the soccer fans during the normal service.



The service will run after the soccer match until 19h00 to transport fans from FNB Stadium to Thokoza Park T1 and FNB to Ellispark and Innercity T1 and FNB to Library Gardens through Noordgesig, Westbury, UJ Kingsway, Milpark and Parktown T3.



T1 and T3 buses will operate from the Soccer City Rea Vaya station after the Match to transport fans to Ellispark, Thokoza Park and Auckland and Parktown.



Fans who are smart card holders will pay normal fares based on the distance travelled from their initial point to the FNB Stadium. Other fans will be able to purchase a single trip card for R13.00 and R25.00 for double trip card (return).
