Contrary to media reports on the so-called child abduction by midfielder Jabu Pule, Amakhosi are not perturbed by the merits of the story and would like to put certain issues arising from that into perspective.
Club PRO Putco Mafani says the club would love to categorically state that according to the report:
The so-called abduction happened on December 22, 2002 and was only reported in the papers on January 13, 2003, that arises a lot of questions in a case that involves a 16-year-old child.
The "mother" is reported to have met Jabu and released the minor to him at 10pm, and that does not constitute abduction.
The "mother" posed with a signed autograph, which she exchanged for the release of a 16-year-old at 10pm which is gross child neglect.
The "mother" can on the contrary face charges of child abuse and child neglect.
The "mother" talks about the boyfriend of a minor of 16 years, which she encourages - another act of absolute irresponsibility and child neglect.
Information presented to Amakhosi surrounding this "abduction case" reveals some interesting facts.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, sources close to the family have said that the girl had actually ran away from home after the discovery that the so-called "mother" is not her biological parent and that she's actually a sister.
A visibly upset Jabu Pule refused to comment on the case in the wake of recent negative media reports.
