The Zimbabwean international left back believes that he still needs to improve on his performance against the Usuthu if he is to hold on to his place in the starting eleven, he is though pleased to have started his first game since November 27.
“When I was out of the team I carried on training the normal way I never dropped my head and just carried on fighting. I am happy to have played and scored against AmaZulu, but I do believe that I can improve and with more game time I feel I can get better.”
Jambo did admit that having missed out on five games which meant that he lacked time out on the field did catch up with him, “because I had not played for so many games I was tired after the game and thankfully I have got some good sleep, but now that I had the time out I am ready to fight for another ninety minutes and more hopefully against Celtic this weekend.”
Jambo did have enough in him to score an amazing goal which any striker would be proud of at the time his goal put Chiefs 3-1 up against AmaZulu, of his wonder strike he said.
“When I received the ball I thought of playing it wide, and then I thought let me have a go and I just struck with all I had, the funny thing is after scoring I wanted to run but before I could move the other guys were there quickly.
I enjoyed playing the game and scoring was a real bonus.”
Zhaimu looking ahead to Chiefs next league clash with Bloemfontein Celtic said, “I saw their game on Wednesday evening against Sundowns, from that evidence we are well aware that it is going to be a difficult game for us.
If we do what we did against AmaZulu and make our early opportunities count we will tie up the game early on and will be in a position to dictate play.
There is never an easy game for Chiefs as they say and we ready to fight for another three points. Right now we doing well at the back in the midfield and up front we need to keep on playing as a cohesive unit and the positive results will keep coming.”
