Jimmy Jambo has revealed that he is motivated by the 2012/13 League Champions medal and is hoping to win more medals with the Club going forward.

The flying leftback known in football circles as “Jambo Jet” had to watch the better part of the season on the side-lines after injuring his knee back on the 19th of October 2012 (in a Telkom Knockout match against BidVest Wits) last year but joined his teammates during the celebrations for the double.

“I would have loved to contribute to the success of the team. I started the season on a high and looking forward to improve on my performances of the previous seasons but then the injury came. It is part of football and I have put that behind me and now I am focusing on the future.”

“It was heart-warming to be part of the celebrations after winning both the league and the Nedbank Cup. I remember jumping up and down with the likes of Kingston Nkhatha and it is the kind of feeling that you can’t put into words.”

“There are players that play for two decades and never win the league title. I really feel special to have been part of the group that won it this season.”

“I am focusing on my rehabilitation now and have been working hard with the Club’s medical team. I will be back earlier from the holidays compared to the rest of the team. Hopefully soon I can don the gold and black again. I would like to thank everyone at the Club and the supporters for their support throughout the injury. My family also has been there for me. I will be back stronger and better,” added Jambo.
