Amakhosi left back Zhaimu Jambo went through his first full training session unscathed on Monday morning, it was the first time the Zimbabwean international had trained with the rest of his team-mates since injuring his left knee during a league game against Santos on November 10.

Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com after the session a smiling and delighted Jambo said, “I am hoping to take out the stitches from the injury today. I did not go all out during the session and I held back slightly, I am not feeling any pain, it was good to be back out training once again. I am confident that I will be back to full fitness for this weekend’s game against Vasco.”

Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic also expressed his happiness at the fact that Jambo was able to resume normal training, “it is good that Zhaimu is back in training. His injury was not too serious and he has made a quick recovery, also Kaizer Junior is making good progress as he recovers from his injury. Thankfully after the Santos game we have no injuries and no suspensions for our next game against Vasco Da Gama on Saturday.”

Furthermore Vermezovic has complemented his charges on their overall fitness levels as he said, “being able to come through in extra time against Santos proves that our fitness is on a very high level and even though we played an extra thirty minutes we did not tire."
