Kinshasa - There will be memories galore, when the Amakhosi face AS Vita Club in the CAF Champions League 1st Leg of the 2nd Round, at the Tata Raphael Stadium on Sunday.



Past players:



In 2002 a Kinshasa born Kabamba Musasa, joined the Glamour Boys. Musasa played 51 games scoring 15 goals in the process. Musasa joined the Amakhosi from Lubumbashi based Saint Elio Lupopo.



Current players:



The Amakhosi's striker Kingston Nkhatha played against Saint Eloi Lupopo. Nkhatha, playing for Black Leopards eliminated the DR Congo based Lupopo in the Orange Confederation Cup. Nkhatha scored the equaliser in the 2-2 draw (6 - 4 aggregate) at the Kibasa Maliba stadium of Lubumbashi.



Previous encounters:



The Amakhosi lost to AS Vita Club 4 - 5 on penalties in the semifinals in the 2005 Vodacom Challenge. Current Team Manager Gerald Sibeko was in the Team and he slotted his spot kick.



"It was a tough game. I scored my spot kick but we missed one or two. It was a tough game, I just recall they had one of their brilliant players in the midfield. It's been a long time and I have forgotten his name, he was good," said Sibeko.



DRC Experience:



Coach Stuart Baxter was here in 2005, as the Bafana Bafana Coach. Baxter and his Team had to be accommodated at SA Embassy as a result of bad conditions at the allocated hotel.



"This is the room where I slept in 2005," said Baxter pointing to the window of one of the houses at Embassy. The Amakhosi were hosted and welcomed to the DRC by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary - H E Mr N Mashimbye on Friday 21 March 2014, Human Rights Day in SA.



The legend's memory:



Assistant Coach Doctor Khumalo was in the Bafana Bafana squad that played the DRC (then called Zaire) in a game played in Togo due to turmoil in the DRC. "I was on song in that game. No wonder people here will not forget me," said Khumalo.
