Amakhosi and their main sponsor Vodacom expressed their gratitude and season’s greetings in style to their supporters who came in droves to enjoy what is known as the ‘Amakhosi Festive Vibe’. The stage was set at Panyaza Chisanyama in White City, Soweto. Through interaction with Amakhosi and the public via Kaizer Chiefs media platforms – the supporters responded to an open invite to gather at Panyaza on Monday 17 December 12.
The revellers were treated to dance music all day long. Kaizer Chiefs and Vodacom flags flew in and around Panyaza to mark the presence of the two matching brands. As early as 11:00 in the morning the area was clearly destined to become as vibrant as ever. Kaizer Chiefs Supporters Club was at hand to process and answer questions on Club Membership as well as selling Kaizer Chiefs authentic merchandise. Kaizer Chiefs Management came in numbers, Emmanuel Khumalo, Vina Maphosa and Jessica Motaung were in attendance much to the delight of the packed Chisanyama spot.
Players Matthew Rusike and Willard Katsande arrived to cheering supporters who couldn’t wait for the formalities to start before they took their pictures. The toast of the town was the prize give away session when the supporters were given opportunity to answer elementary questions and it became a matter of Christmas came early for many who walked away with Vodacom vouchers as well as many other branded valuables.
At some point the venue resembled the football stadium stands with supporters going into full song reminiscent of the 12th man in the FNB stands. The supporters were treated to fresh from the braai-stand delicacies as well as flowing drinks.
The ever pulsating Jessica Motaung commented; “Even though we planned this concept hoping for this response little did we know that it would go this far. I would like to thank the team that worked around the clock from conceptual stage to this execution point. Thato (Matuka) and company worked hard on the project with Mandla leaving no stone unturned in terms of coordinating the invite and creating the excitement through our social media. But all in all it is always a team effort. We would not do this if it was not for Vodacom, and I would like to unreservedly thank Vodacom for making this happen.”
Vina Maphosa caught up with kaizerchiefs.com; “This has been another fine display from the Marketing Team, the supporters told me they appreciated this activity and will be at the stadium to support the team when they take on Amazulu on Tuesday, 18 December 2012 at the FNB Stadium. Just as a reminder the game starts at 19:30 and tickets are available at Shoprite/Checkers and Shoprite nationwide at R40 for Adults”
