Capetonians who went out to buy a newspaper this morning realised that the Argus is covered in a Wrap from Kaizer Chiefs. It contains information about the three home games Amakhosi will play in the Mother City, with the first coming on Saturday, 19 December.

The opponent for Saturday’s Absa Premiership clash is Bidvest Wits and the match will be played at the Cape Town Stadium (kick-off at 18:00).

“The Wrap is already a major talking point in Cape Town,” says Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director Jessica Motaung. “Having a Wrap is innovative in South Africa’s soccer industry. It’s a new and different way to communicate with our supporters in the Cape. It’s about reaching out.”

“We did the Wrap together with our partner, Vodacom,” continues Motaung. “It’s a different way of advertising. We always like to break new boundaries and set trends. That’s also what made the club into what it is today. Monday’s Wrap is an example of this.”

The Wrap contains not only a message from Amakhosi midfielder George Maluleka, but also from former Springbok, Breyton Paulse, former South African international cricketer, Herschelle Gibbs and some others. Paulse and Gibbs are fanatical Amakhosi supporters.

There is also an update on the Vodacom Roadshows that Kaizer Chiefs will organise in the Cape ahead of Saturday’s encounter against league log leaders the Clever Boys.

The Western Cape community papers Vukani and Plainsman will later this week also be covered in Kaizer Chiefs’ Wrap.
