Kaizer Chiefs visited Sasolburg on Women’s Day, 09 August 2011, to celebrate and commemorate the day with Kaizer Chiefs’ Sasolburg Branch, members of the community and surrounding Kaizer Chiefs’ Branches.

The event which was held at a packed Lerato Hall had guest speakers which included Mr B.P. Molupe and social workers.

The Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung and some members of the Marketing Team represented the Kaizer Chiefs Head Office.

She was honoured to be invited to this event.

“We as Kaizer Chiefs always try to make time for these events that aim to better the lives of the people especially women and children.

Issues that affect women needed to be addressed and what better day to highlight these than Women’s Day.

I was deeply humbled to spend time and talk to one of our oldest supporters. Mrs Elizabeth Maluka who is 108 years old who was also present at the event.”

Jessica Motaung talked about education empowerment issues and ended her speech with the “Rise Manifesto”, which encouraged them to take up their place and “RISE”.

The event included entertainment by dancers and also traditional artist, Sizwe Mokoena. Tokens of appreciation were then handed out to the Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung by the Sasolburg Branch.

The Chairman of the Sasolburg Branch, Mr Sello Mabe had this to say about the event.

“The event was successful and it turned out better than we had planned.

It was fantastic and would like to thank the Kaizer Chiefs Head Office and all the other Kaizer Chiefs’ Branches (Parys, Koppies, Heilbron, Refengkgotso, Orangeville, Bophelong, Sharpeville and Boipatong) who came to support us”
