We are also concerned that attacks do not augur well for a country that is fighting hard to convince nations to consider visiting our country during the historic 2010 Fifa World Cup that would be hosted by South Africans for the first time in our continent.
We call all leaders to join in both rational and action to stamp such attacks on human beings regardless of their origins and reason for residing in our country. Our call is motivated by the fact that the same victims of these unsavoury attacks provided a sanctuary for South Africans that escaped the harsh and dreadful years of apartheid. We therefore challenge fellow citizens to unite and stand against such acts that dangerously carry regrettable ramifications should they be allowed to persist.
We particularly appeal to all Amakhosi Supporters and the entire football community to resist any temptation to participate in such acts lest they defile our motto that embraces “Love and Peace”.
