Kaizer Chiefs will play Botswana’s Township Rollers in the preliminary round of the African Champions League. This is the result of the draw which CAF held in Cairo on Monday.

The Amakhosi will host the Rollers at home in the first game, which will take place on 13, 14 or 15 February. The return match in Gaborone will be on 27/28 February or 1 March.

The Botswana side was founded in 1961 as Mighty Tigers, only to change their name four years later to Township Rollers. The club enjoys a massive following in Botswana.

If Chiefs progress, either Morocco’s Raja Casablanca or Congo’s CSM Diables Noirs will be the opponent in the first round of the African Champions League.

Raja Casablanca reached the final of the 2013 Fifa World Cup, only to lose 2-0 to Germany’s giants Bayern Munich in the final.

Mamelodi Sundowns, meanwhile, will face St. Michel from Seychelles in the preliminary round.
