Amakhosi fan, Edmond Ngobeni was the winner on Monday evening when his name was drawn by Club’s Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung during a live production of Soccerzone on SABC 1.
Ngobeni was among the 20 million supporters who participated during the second edition of Carling Black Label launched back in May 2012.
The Executive Chairman in consultation with auditors had to exercise some patience redialling Ngobeni’s telephone number but eventually Ngobeni picked up to the news that he was the winner of 1 million rand with half of the prize (R500, 000) going to his pocket while he will work with the Club on the other half for a charity initiative of his choice.
“We are happy as Kaizer Chiefs to be involved once more with this initiative that allows us to make a contribution to the community. Last season winner (Luthando Lukhwe) helped to renovate a preschool with R500, 000 and we looking forward working with Edmond Ngobeni this time around.” ~ Kaizer Chiefs Executive Chairman
The Kaizer Chiefs’s Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung was joined by his counterpart from Orlando Pirates who also participated in the drawing of an Orlando Pirates fan who walked away with the same prize.
Carling Black Label will return in full force next year.
