Kaizer Chiefs were honoured to welcome Minister of International Affairs and Sports of Lower Saxony, Germany, Daniela Behrens, to their facilities at the Village after a tour of the iconic FNB Stadium on Sunday, 20 October. Minister Behrens, who has held her portfolio since 2023, expressed her admiration for the club's commitment to youth development during her tour. "I'm very impressed with the work being done with the youth, and I'm struck by the professionalism, which is remarkably similar to what we have in Germany," she remarked.

During discussions with Kaizer Chiefs' Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung, the notion of exploring opportunities for collaboration between German and South African football appealed to Minister Behrens. She suggested exchanging young players, which could mutually benefit both nations ."I think it's worth considering bringing young players from Germany to be part of Kaizer Chiefs' youth structures. This could be a valuable exchange," she said.

This visit marks another significant milestone in Kaizer Chiefs' international outreach, following the club's recent engagement with the Turkish Government through its Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, during the team's pre-season tour ahead of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership campaign.

Motaung emphasised the importance of extending international relationships: "Our international strategy is crucial to growing the Kaizer Chiefs brand globally. We aim to establish meaningful partnerships that not only benefit the club but also contribute to the development of South African football, both at the community and corporate levels." she concluded.
