NATURENA, 25 November 2013 – Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to get back to winning ways when they welcome Polokwane City in a much anticipated Absa Premiership encounter taking place at FNB Stadium on Wednesday, 27 November 2013. Please note that this game was originally scheduled for 4 December.

The Absa Premiership champions have won four, drawn three and lost two games in the league this season but are yet to lose a league game at FNB Stadium since March 2012.

The Glamour Boys go to the encounter against Polokwane City after suffering a shock exit in the semifinal of the TKO Cup at the hands of Platinum Stars last Saturday.

Coach Stuart Baxter has once again urged his players to dig deeper following the TKO exit; “At the moment there appears a little margin from what we were doing last season. In the main, what we are doing is the extension of last season. We need to adjust and maximize on the opportunities we have been creating. Last season one of our strengths was on set plays, but now in the last two games we battled in that area. We must get our effectiveness and efficiency back. Polokwane City will be coming to us at the back of a good win (3 – 0 win over TUKS) but they will be thinking that they have a challenge against us because we want to respond from a disappointing Cup exit.”

Corporate Communications Manager, Vina Maphosa urged the fans to continue buying tickets for the upcoming game; “We are playing at our home, FNB Stadium, this Wednesday and once again call on the Amakhosi faithful to come in their numbers to the game. Polokwane City is the newcomer but already they are showing signs of a threat. They beat TUKS 3 – 0 in their last league game. We knocked them out of the Nedbank Cup last season and in the TKO this season. They have since effected changes in their Technical Team, with Boebie Solomons coming in as their Head Coach. We encourage the Love and Peace supporters to rally behind the Team at all times. You inspire us when the chips are down.

Tickets are selling for R40 and R10 for scholars at Computicket including Shoprite/Checkers nationwide.” added Maphosa.

Kickoff for the game on Wednesday is billed for 19:30 kickoff. Gates open at 16:30.
