Kaizer Chiefs has withdrawn its participation from the Under 15 Manchester United Premier Cup following a stringent internal review process of their Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Programme (KCYDP).

Management took a moral decision to skip the tournament to verify the credentials of all players currently registered in their programme. In past years, different tournaments have been riddled by cheating around players’ ages and the Amakhosi deemed it necessary to prevent its players from taking part following suspicion of foul play.

Management is involved in re-engineering its development structures and is focussed on implementing stricter recruitment policies. We are committed to the spirit of Fifa’s Fair Play and promise to return to the competition after the review.
