SuperSport 4 will broadcast this Wednesday afternoon an extensive and in depth interview with Kaizer Chiefs Chairman Kaizer Motaung.

The interview was done by South Africa’s former cricket boss Ali Bacher. The show, called ‘In Conversation’, can be seen at SS4 at 17:30 and will last an hour (it can also be watched at SuperSport Four Africa).

Bacher regularly interviews sportsmen for the SuperSport channel. Recently, international sport stars like former Liverpool star John Barnes and South African rugby player Jean de Villiers were featured.

For the 25th edition of ‘In Conversation’, Bacher wanted an especially interesting focus and what would be better than interviewing the Amakhosi Chairman.

The interview was conducted at the Village and numerous topics were discussed, including Motaung’s playing days, the founding of Kaizer Chiefs and winning trophies.

“Kaizer is an icon in South African sport,” says Bacher. “He was not only an exceptional player, but what he built up with Kaizer Chiefs is one of the most brilliant South African success stories.”

“Besides this, Kaizer’s leadership is outstanding and that’s not me talking, it’s people who worked with him and who I interviewed for the show. People like Doctor Khumalo, Neil Tovey and Bizzah Dlamini.”

“When Kaizer employs somebody for a certain position, he allows that person to run with it. He doesn’t interfere in his job every day. The same holds true for the coaches he employs. Kaizer was a brilliant player, but he won’t interfere with the coach’s job, although, of course, coaches can always come to him for advice.”

“It’s difficult to compare world class achievers,” Bacher adds, “but if I look at South Africa, Danie Craven comes to mind, the legendary former rugby boss. He had such an enormous impact on rugby and Kaizer has done the same for South African soccer.”

“Look at Chiefs’ headquarters, the Village, the facilities are world class. People who are successful always have to take risks and Kaizer did that when he bought that piece of land in Naturena. He took a chance and succeeded. I feel honoured to have been able to interview Kaizer for ‘In Conversation’. He’s a visionary!”

The show ‘In Conversation’ featuring the Chiefs Chairman will be repeated several times from tomorrow, Thursday, 29 October.

The first will be on Thursday morning at 08:20, also at SuperSport 4 (and SuperSport Four Africa), followed by another repeat at 14:00 (again on both DStv channels).

On Friday, the interview will be shown at midnight (00:00), 12:00, 19:00 and 22:30 (all again on SS4 and SSFourAfrica).

‘In Conversation’ will furthermore be broadcasted on Derby day, Saturday, at 07:15 and 18:00. There will be more repeats until November 6.

So watch out for the show to not miss out on this very special interview with Chiefs Chairman Kaizer Motaung.
