Kaizer JNR Motaung announced his retirement from professional soccer In an emotional Press Conference held at Naturenal on Monday morning.

Kaizer JNR, the son of the legendary, Chiefs founder member and current Executive Chairman Kaizer Motaung, bid farewell to the soccer loving fraternity after serving the beautiful game with dignity since turning professional in 2001.

“Kaizer Chiefs is more than a soccer team. It is an institution, a culture, a way of life, a Family of millions. As players here, we stand on the shoulders of giants. It has been an honour and a blessing to have donned the famous Gold and Black. Personally, to have been PLAYER OF THE SEASON, to have been voted ‘PLAYERS’ PLAYER OF THE SEASON, to have scored the goal of the season, to have been top goal scorer and be nominated in the top three best players of the PSL, all in one season, is a contribution that I am proud of. In the ways of personal achievement, I hope that this has earned its line in the great book that tells the story of the Mighty Amakhosi.

There are no words.

To my Chairman, my Boss, my Leader, My Hero, My Father, My Friend, Mr. Kaizer Motaung SNR….

All I can say is that God sent you to touch so many lives, in so many ways that words could never express our gratitude, appreciation and thanks. I would like to thank you for all your words of advice, love, and wisdom you have given me over the years. Your belief in me has driven me to aspire each day to be a person of integrity and humility. Thank you for the opportunity you have given me to represent your team on the field. I am honoured and humbled and hope I served your vision with excellence. Thank you MR. Chairman." said a visibly emotional Kaizer JNR in his media statement.
