Kaizer Motaung Jr. has made steady progress with his recovery from a recent injury and should start training with the team in the next two weeks. This was revealed by the player to kaizerchiefs.com following intensive work with the Kaizer Chiefs Physio, David Milner on Wednesday morning.

The Kaizer Chiefs no. 7 got injured having come in as a substitute during the Vodacom Challenge Final against Manchester United in July this year.

“Things are looking good and I am satisfied with the progress I have made” said Kaizer Jr.

“I tore my outside ligament and the inside one was also partially torn on my left ankle. The initial diagnosis from the doctor was that I was going to be out for the next three months. It is now about a month and two weeks and my outside ligament has healed while my inner one needs a week or so. I should then be training with the team in the next two weeks” he said.

“It is frustrating to be out injured. I was in good condition during the preseason having spent part of last season recovering from another injury. I know people always say, “Its part of football”. Look at someone like Tshepo (Bulu) he was out for seven months last season now he is out again. Look at Ronaldo at Manchester United, and the list goes on - these things happen” he said.

Kaizer Jr. added that his heart is with the team this upcoming weekend when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the much anticipated MTN 8 final. “We have a great squad. We are united and I am proud of the boys going to the final. Yes, we should have done better in the past two league games, but there is no doubt that that we are playing some enterprising football in the league.”
