Kaizer Motaung about Senzo Meyiwa’s death

Posted in News on Oct 27, 2014.

It was with utter shock that I received the news of Senzo Meyiwa’s death. My sincerest condolences are conveyed to Senzo’s family and friends.

My thoughts are also with Orlando Pirates. Losing a teammate is never easy, moreover, as the goalkeeper was their current captain. I wish my colleague, Buccaneers chairman Irvin Khoza strength during this difficult period.

Senzo’s death represents a huge and sad loss to the South African soccer family.

The 27-year-old Bafana goalkeeper was killed on Sunday evening in Vosloorus.

I hope that Senzo’s tragic death, another senseless killing of an innocent person that too often happens in our beloved country, will be a call to all South Africans to stand together and address this issue of crime.
