Kaizer Chiefs supremo Kaizer Motaung has vehemently refuted reports made in the Sunday Times about the injury to Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana Captain Itumeleng Khune during the Chan Tournament.

The article not only misquoted Motaung but also presented Motaung as an active participant in the probe against the National Team Coach Gordon Igesund.

"Igesund's woes worsen

Kaizer Motaung put what could be the final nail in Gordon Igesund's coffin this week when he disputed the beleaguered Bafana Bafana coach's claims that goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune was injured ahead of the infamous African Nations Championship (Chan) match against Nigeria in January," referred the article.

"The journalist, Louis Mazibuko called me to ask about Khune' injury during Chan. I told him that all what I know is that Khune was declared fit to play for Chiefs upon his return to the Club after Chan," said Motaung.

"I refused to comment about what happened at Bafana Bafana as I am not involved in the players issues at that level. I do not like to be drawn in this saga," said Motaung.

Motaung further indicated he will be engaging with the authors of the article with the aim of correcting the situation.
