Various South African icons have been asked to provide a motivational message before each game of the Proteas at the Cricket World Cup.

One of the persons requested to do this was our Kaizer Chiefs Chairman Kaizer Motaung. His message was given to the cricketers before today’s encounter against the West Indies.

Kaizer Motaung’s message to the Mighty Proteas reads as follows:

The journey you have just undertaken is more than a game or tournament.

It is not just about YOU and the PROTEAS

It’s about your COUNTRY.

You are standing on the shoulders of more than fifty million of your fellow South Africans.

As such you are faced with THE MOMENT OF GLORY as the world is watching.

Sometimes even that’s not good enough.
