Lucky Khune insisted on Thursday that he is going to bounce back following an injury that has forced him to the sidelines until the end of the season.

The Ventersdorp born striker affectionately known as ‘Kaka’ injured his adductor a month ago when he was starting to see regular game time.

Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com at Kaizer Chiefs Village on Thursday morning he said; “The timing of my injury was bad as I had waited for a long time to get some game time in the team and when things started working out for me I got injured. These things happen in football and I am keeping my head up.

“The most important thing for me is to bounce back stronger and better than I have ever been. I think this is possible thanks to the support I have been getting from my teammates and everyone associated with the Club,” said Khune who also revealed that is ‘praying everyday’.

With Chiefs lying on fifth position in the Absa Premiership table and seven points adrift between themselves and leaders, Orlando Pirates with a game in hand Lucky Khune believes that his teammates can still win the championship this season; “We are still on the race and it was unfortunate that we dropped points recently against Maritzburg United. We still have a chance to win the title.

“I know that my teammates and the Technical Team are going to do and give everything they have to win the title. The supporters are behind us and we just have to go to Cape Town this weekend and perform to the best of our ability and the rest will follow,” added Khune.
