The Zimbabwean international who spoke to kaizerchiefs.com after jetting into the Mother City insists that he is only looking to take home three points from Cape Town and has no other thoughts as he prepares for a reunion with the Urban Warriors.
“I am in Town to do the job for my team, if the coach plays me I will be grateful and I will endeavor to ensure that we win the game, Ajax might be my former team but I don’t have any other assignment in Cape Town but to what is asked of me from my coach.”
Katsande while keeping focused on the big job at hand does believe that having an insight into the Ajax camp could prove to be advantageous, “I feel that if we stick with the game plan that the coach has come up with we will be successful against them.
I do hope that if I feature I can use my knowledge of being a former Ajax player to great effect, I will pass on what I do know to the team and hopefully it can be useful to us.”
The Zimbabwean international also holds the view that the game will be an offensive one and could see a lot of goal mouth action, “Chiefs and Ajax are teams who enjoy playing open attacking football.
Neither team wants to lose so I feel that it will be a very open game I do predict goals, I hope that they will be for us.”
Katsande got his first taste of action for Chiefs while appearing as a substitute during their MTN8 Final loss to Orlando Pirates on Saturday, while his start as a Chiefs player might not have been what he would have liked he is optimistic that things will get better.
“It was not memorable losing on debut but it happened and I need to look to turn things around now, I was welcomed on the field by the guys and came in to the game at a crucial time despite the loss I think there is a lot I can take with me going forward.”
