“Fantastic, my parents still live there,” reacts Kaizer Chiefs right-back Siboniso ‘Pa’ Gaxa upon hearing about the KC Roadshow hitting Kwa-Mashu’s Bridge City Mall on Friday (from 11am to 6pm). It will also be an opportunity for our supporters to buy Amakhosi merchandise and have the opportunity to win a ticket for the MTN8 Cup final.
Amakhosi stars Josta Dladla, Hendrik Ekstein, Lorenzo Gordinho and Zhwivhuya Matombo will come and visit the KC Roadshow in Kwa-Mashu.
“Kwa-Mashu is a very energetic township where the young people love the modern lifestyle,” tells Gaxa about the place where he grew-up.
Then, he smiles: “My mom, my aunt and a lot of cousins all support Kaizer Chiefs, even when I was still very young. In a sense, by joining the Amakhosi, I have come home!”
“Every time I go and visit my parents, I see all those Kaizer Chiefs fans in Kwa-Mashu. I can feel that love that somebody from their home town is now playing for their favourite Club. That’s amazing and it gives me a very special feeling inside.”
Unfortunately, Gaxa won’t be there as he will have a big game ahead on Saturday evening when Kaizer Chiefs face Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 final. “Obviously, we want to be on the winning side,” notes the defender about the upcoming Derby clash. “We will give everything we have and show full commitment.”
The KC Roadshow visited Pietermaritzburg on Thursday.
On Saturday, they will be at the Umlazi Mega City (50 Mangosuthu Highway) from 10am to 2pm, before moving to Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium where the MTN8 final will be held. The KC Roadshow will be there from 2pm until 8pm (the match kicks-off at 8:15pm).
