September was an eventful month for the Amakhosi family, marked by the official kick-off of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season. The team's preparations were complemented by various off-field activities that showcased the club's commitment to community development and partnership building.

Twinning Project

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) partnered with Kaizer Chiefs and the FIFA Foundation to launch the Twinning Project. This innovative program focuses on empowering female inmates at the Johannesburg Correctional Centre through football coaching lessons. By leveraging football's universal language, the project aims to inspire hope, discipline, and transformation, ultimately facilitating the rehabilitation and reintegration of women offenders into society.

The launch event began on a vibrant note, with inmates welcoming the program through song. Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung, expressed the club's excitement at the prospect of harnessing football's power for positive change.

Joining the esteemed guests was Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis.

Development Coach Dillon Sheppard led the technical team, comprising Head of Goalkeepers Aubrey Mathibe and Head of Sports Science Muzi Maluleke, during the project's launch. The inmates immediately embarked on a physical training program, marking the beginning of their journey toward empowerment. We wish the participants all the best in the workshop.

Heritage Month Celebrations with Vodacom

As part of Heritage Month, Kaizer Chiefs players, technical team, and staff joined partners Vodacom for the Spirit Day event in Midrand, Johannesburg. The theme, "Heritage and Diversity," highlighted the importance of embracing differences while uniting in shared values and vision.

Vodacom's commitment to celebrating South Africa's rich heritage was evident throughout the event. The partnership between Vodacom and Kaizer Chiefs exemplifies the power of collaboration, shared values, and commitment to making a difference. Our partnership transcends sport, uniting two institutions with a common vision.

The activities included a walk around the Vodacom building, while players interacted and entertained the Vodacom staff with dance moves, taking pictures and signing autographs.
A great day spent with our partners during a significant month in our county.

Match Against Mamelodi Sundowns

After success in our two opening matches, against Marumo Gallants and AmaZulu away from home, the much anticipated first home match was against rivals Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium. The highly anticipated match against Masandawan lived up to expectations. Coach Nasreddine Nabi's first home game saw the fans paint the stadium with the club's colours in another sold out affair. The electric atmosphere was further amplified by the entertainment lineup, headlined by Oscar Mbo.

The Vodacom suite experience enhanced the enjoyment, featuring former player Lucas Radebe and celebrities Hope Mbhele and Thato Mthombeni. The experience was infused with Vodacom's 30-year birthday celebrations, marked by a cake-cutting ceremony attended by players and staff.
At halftime, players interacted with fans and Vodacom staff. Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Tebogo Potsane cut the massive cake to conclude the halftime activities.

The match itself was nothing short of a spectacle. Ranga Chivaviro broke the deadlock inside 10 minutes, only for Sundowns to take the lead with goals from Lucas Ribeiro and Iqraam Rayners. Despite numerous efforts, Amakhosi couldn't bounce back.

Kaizer Chiefs Legends Continue Winning Streak

The Kaizer Chiefs Legends continued their winning streak with a 1-0 victory over Kwa-Zulu Natal Legends in Ulundi. Led by coach Thabo Mooki, the legends secured a narrow victory with Thuso Phala netting the solitary goal.

The match was a testament to the enduring spirit of the legends, who remain committed to inspiring and entertaining fans. We are proud of the legends and their dedication. We look forward to another showdown.

Thank you, Amakhosi fans, for your unwavering support throughout the month. Your energy and passion continue to drive the club forward.
