In a kind of Déjà Vu for the experienced midfielder he has urged his teammates to stick to what has worked for them when they face Orlando Pirates in a top of the table Absa Premiership clash on Saturday afternoon.
“The points on offer here are the same as they are in every game” divulged Tinashe who then went on to add, “what does make the dynamic of this game different is that both teams are challenging for league honours.
I do feel that all we need to do is go out there on Saturday and play the same way as we have been doing in our last couple of games, go all out and keep on doing the things which have worked for us in recent times. I do not see any need for us to change much.”
Tinashe also feels that his past triumphs and losses to Pirates in league and cup matches will count for very little when Chiefs take to the field to face their historical and traditional rivals on Saturday.
“Whenever I play in games such as these especially against Pirates I do not look back, our earlier wins and the MTN8 loss has not even crossed my mind because in the context of this game those results mean very little.
This is a new game with a whole lot more riding on it than our previous league meeting this season, they want the win and so do we which makes this game all the more interesting. We cannot look back only forward, we head into this game with a clean slate thinking only about the destiny of the league title.”
According to Nengomasha staying focused before and during the game will be key if Chiefs are to succeed on Saturday, “we must keep our concentration on the task at hand and remain focused on going out for the win.
We need to play as a team and support one another out on the field and if we able to stick together and put up a good all round team performance everything will fall into place for us”.
