Captain, Itumeleng Khune insisted speaking to kaizerchiefs.com that he and his teammates will be ready on Saturday to face rivals, Orlando Pirates despite the postponement of midweek game against Ajax Cape Town.

The game between Kaizer Chiefs and Ajax Cape Town scheduled for Peter Mokaba Stadium in Limpopo on Wednesday was postponed to a later date to allow the latter to play against AmaZulu in the Nedbank Cup on Tuesday, 13 March 2012. The game was cancelled on Sunday due to water logged pitch.

Chiefs will now wait for Saturday having last played a competitive game on Saturday, 03 March against Cape Town All Stars in the Nedbank Cup.

“The upcoming game against Orlando Pirates on Saturday is a massive game for us and we will be ready,” said Khune who is expected to lead his teammates for the first time in a Soweto derby.

“We would have preferred to play on Wednesday but the game was postponed. That is for us water under the bridge and we are now focusing on our next game. It is a very important game for everyone associated with the Club.

“The mood in the camp is high ahead of this game and we have chosen to ignore what has been said on the press. All is well in the camp. We are unified by one objective which is to win our next game,” added Khune.

Kick off for the game is at 15:30.
